We partnered with nationally acclaimed poet Tonya Ingram to publish a one-of-a-kind book of poetry, How To Survive Today
We set out to create a book of poetry that didn’t feel passive, but like an interactive and personal experience where you would heal and grow alongside Tonya.
The result was a one-of-a-kind masterpiece full of Tonya’s words and wisdom. It is part-journal, part-illustrated book of poetry, and all a love letter to those on a journey of self-discovery
Book was featured in Madewell’s campaign with Issa Rae
Sold at major retailers (including Barnes and Noble) and with indie bookstores across the U.S., with distribution to multiple countries
Sold thousands of copies through a strategic pre-order campaign and ongoing marketing efforts
Co-created the “30 days of self-care” campaign during COVID and the “Support Black Poetry” series
Launched an e-commerce site and developed wide-ranging merch that featured Tonya’s words
Tonya tragically passed away in December 2022 at the age of 31 while waiting for a kidney transplant. Our hearts are with her family and her readers. We miss her deeply and consider it the honor of our careers that we partnered with her on such important work.
